THE TRIP FROM 24 DEGREES ABOVE TO 20 DEGREES BELOW

Off I went on the 28th of December at 1.15pm. Ma Pa and Christa saw me off. The first flight to Singapore was interesting as I sat beside a rather large man (undisclosed race) who wouldnt let me have any armrest (well I dont think he was trying to hog it, but still) and directly behind two young guys who were showing a bit too much affection towards each other. The kai was pretty good considering it was plane food (yes Christa I did what you said and got some more bread ;p ). The flight took 11 hours. Singapore airport is massive. Arriving in terminal 3 and moving to terminal 2 required a small train. Much different to what im used to!

The next flight to Frankfurt (Germany) took 12 hours and seemed to go on forever even after a 8hour sleep while flying. Frankfurt was pretty cool-the police had guns..! Frankfurt to Oslo (Norway) took 2 hours and I was greeted by -8 temperatures and a white out frost in Oslo. It was an amazing site. I wondered why I was the only person going through the 'things to declare section' and was told later that no one EVER goes through there in Norway...thanks for the early advice.

Ove (said kind of like 'Uuva') picked me up and took me to his house in Aarnes. On the 30th we took off into the mountains with Audun to Ove's cabin to spend new years with some mates of theirs. It ranged between -5 and -20 degrees!! Ove cooked us a yum roast of Roe Deer, which he had hunted, for new years eve dinner. Cross country skiing up there was so much fun-we are hoping for heaps of snow here at uni so we can ski at a track nearby during this winter (and may even try a few bigger jumps on the skis after a bit more practise). We had a great time up there and now I'm at uni staying with Ove and Audun until tomorrow (4.1.09) when I will pick up my new room key. Ill add more updates as I go!! Hope everyone is well!
